Selfoss has a lot of events every year including Summer in Selfoss, Kótelettan, Fornbílahelgin (vintage cars), 17. june, Vor í árborg and Family fishing day in Ölfusá. In most of the events there are concerts, fireworks, fairground rides, flea markets, children programs etc. Here you can see what is happening in Árborg all year around.

Tryggvaskáli is in the oldest house in Selfoss and many locals say it's the best restaurant in town.
Swimming is great fun for all family members. There are two outdoor pools, hot-tubs, cold-tubs, water slides, 2 indoor pools, sauna and steam bath.
Surf & Turf is a great restaurant serving hamburgers, pizza, seafood and steaks at a reasonable price. It is the closest restaurant to Gesthús, only 5 minutes walk.
